Wreck of Glenhead - Scottish West Coast

Alright, let’s talk about the Glenhead. This isn’t your sun-drenched tropical wreck, and that's precisely why we love it. Diving the Glenhead, tucked away on the Scottish West Coast, is an experience in atmosphere. The light filtering through that green water, the way the kelp sways around the deck, it's just something else. She’s broken, but still very much a ship, resting on her side. We always make a point of poking around the bow, where the anchor chain still drapes down, heavy with encrusting life. You’ll find squat lobsters tucked into every crevice, and plumose anemones, almost glowing white, clinging to the hull. Our favourite part is dropping into the holds, which are surprisingly open and easy to navigate. Watch for the wolf fish – we’ve seen some absolute monsters lurking in the shadows there. It’s a dive that rewards slow exploration, perfect for those who appreciate history and the rugged beauty of cold water diving. Just be prepared for genuine Scottish visibility, which can range from "pretty good" to "is that my hand?". It’s all part of the charm.
