Wreck of Limelight - Scottish West Coast

The Limelight isn't your average Scottish wreck. We've dived plenty of disintegrating trawlers, but this one feels different, more intact, more *there*. Dropping down, the first thing you notice is the way the light filters through the kelp forest on the surface, creating an ethereal green glow around the bow. The stern is more broken, but the engine room is still quite recognisable, inviting you to peer into its shadowy depths. We love the way the resident wrasse dart in and out of the corroded plates, and we've often spotted conger eels tucked away in the darker corners – keep an eye out for their heads poking out from behind a bulkhead. It’s a rewarding dive for those comfortable with deeper wrecks and a bit of chill, offering a real sense of exploration rather than just a quick look. Our favourite detail? The way the soft corals have started to colonise the metal, adding splashes of colour to the monochrome steel.
