Wreck of Logan - Scottish West Coast

The Logan wreck is one of our favourites on the Scottish west coast, a moody, atmospheric dive that really delivers. You’ll drop onto the bow, usually into decent visibility, and the whole ship just stretches out ahead of you, a dark silhouette against the greener light filtering down. We love exploring the holds, they’re still full of coal, creating these dark, cavernous spaces where conger eels lurk, usually pretty curious about your torch beam. Keep an eye out for nudibranchs, too; the current, when it’s running, brings plenty of food to the wreck, so you’ll find them tucked into all the nooks and crannies. It’s a dive that suits those who appreciate a bit of history and a touch of the dramatic; it’s not a shallow, colourful reef, but a proper wreck dive with a real sense of place. We’d suggest going at slack water, it makes poking around the deeper parts of the holds much more relaxing.
