Wreck of Margaret Mitchell - Scottish West Coast

We’ve spent a lot of time diving Scotland, and the Margaret Mitchell always pulls us back. This isn't some pristine, intact museum piece; she’s a working wreck, broken up but still full of character, sitting proud on the seabed. We love picking our way through the propeller shaft and the scattered machinery, imagining the sheer force of the seas that put her down. The visibility here can be… moody, let’s say, but that's part of the charm. When the light filters through, it really makes the dead man’s fingers pop against the dark steel. Keep an eye out for inquisitive conger eels peeking from the nooks and crannies – they’re almost a guarantee. This site is perfect for those who appreciate history and the rugged beauty of a cold-water wreck, where the marine life has truly made itself at home. Just remember to time your dive with slack water; the currents can be quite frisky.
