Wreck of Pleiades - Scottish West Coast

The *Pleiades* is our pick for a really atmospheric Scottish wreck dive, sitting upright in the cold, green embrace of the Atlantic. Dropping down onto her, the sheer scale quickly becomes apparent, especially her bow rising out of the gloom. We’ve always been drawn to how intact she is for a wreck of her age, with parts of the superstructure still recognisable, hinting at her past life as a steam trawler. Look closely into the shadowy nooks and crannies. You’ll often spot feisty velvet swimming crabs scuttling over the deck plates and fat anglerfish camouflaged amongst the rust. The current here can be a bit frisky, so we’d suggest timing your dive for slack water. That way, you get to properly explore her holds and peer into the engine room without fighting the tide. It’s a dive that rewards patience and a good torch, perfect for divers who appreciate history and the way the sea reclaims what’s hers.
