Wreck of Sealby - Scottish West Coast

The MV *Sealby* isn't just a hunk of metal on the seabed, it’s a proper expedition. Lying around 30m, she's surprisingly intact for her age, offering proper penetration opportunities if you're qualified and the conditions are right. We love exploring the engine room, which is often full of pollack, and peering into the holds, which can be home to massive conger eels. The visibility here, typical of the Scottish west coast, can range from a glorious 15 metres to a moody 5, but even on gloomier days, the wreck's sheer size and character still make it a worthwhile dive. We’d suggest timing your dive for slack water; the currents can be strong, especially around the exposed superstructure. This site really suits divers with some cold-water wreck experience who appreciate a dive with a bit of history and a real sense of adventure. It’s not a site for beginners, but for those ready, it’s a truly rewarding dive.
