Wreck of Sphere - Scottish West Coast

The Wreck of Sphere sits off the Scottish coast, a proper cold-water wreck dive that really delivers. We love the way she’s mostly intact, lying on her side, inviting a proper swim-through. You can poke around the superstructure, see the davits, even peer into the engine room if you’re comfortable with overhead environments. What really gets us, though, is the sheer density of life that calls her home: colourful jewel anemones smother the metalwork, nudibranchs crawl over every surface, and we’ve seen some seriously chunky conger eels tucked into the darker corners. This isn't a dive for the faint of heart – expect chillier water and sometimes choppy surface conditions – but for experienced divers who appreciate history and robust temperate marine life, it’s a truly rewarding experience. We'd suggest going at slack tide for the best visibility and easiest penetration.
