Wreck of St Joseph - Scottish West Coast

The St Joseph, a trawler resting at around 30 metres, is a proper Scottish wreck dive, moody and atmospheric. We love how intact she is, still sitting upright on the seabed, her mast reaching up towards the surface. It’s a dive that rewards slow exploration; you can spend a good hour finning around her structure, peeking into the wheelhouse, and imagining her working life. For us, the highlight is always the stern, where you’ll often find a resident conger eel peering out from a dark corner, and the deck, which is absolutely covered in feathery hydroids and dead man's fingers. Visibility can be a typical West Coast mixed bag, so pick your day – we’d suggest a slack tide for the best chance of a clear, calm descent. This isn't a beginner's wreck, but if you're comfortable with colder water and deeper dives, it’s one of our favourite pieces of history down there.
