Wreck of Stokers - Scottish West Coast

The Stokers Wreck, tucked away off the Scottish West Coast, is one of those dives we always recommend for divers who appreciate a bit of history. It’s not a deep dive, making it accessible for most, but don't let that fool you into thinking it's simple. The wreck itself, a steam trawler, lies broken, telling a story of rough seas and a fierce past. You'll spend your bottom time navigating the scattered remains, peeking into the engine room, or what’s left of it. We love seeing how the cold-water life has taken over, with dense clusters of plumose anemones clinging to every surface, swaying gently in the subtle current. Look out for the wrasse darting between the plates, and the occasional ling or conger eel peering from a dark corner. Visibility can be a typical Scottish affair – moody and atmospheric – which only adds to the drama. Dive this on a slack tide for the best experience, giving you ample time to really explore the structure and imagine its working days. It’s a proper expedition, and for us, that’s what makes it a standout.
