Wreck of Triton (Possibly) - Scottish West Coast

Diving the Triton, or what we believe to be her, on the Scottish West Coast is a proper adventure. This isn't your Caribbean wall dive; it's a deep, dark plunge into history, surrounded by the moody, often chilly, waters of the North Atlantic. What we love about this wreck is the sheer sense of exploration. You descend into a green gloom that slowly reveals the silhouette of a steel ship, draped in anemones and dead man’s fingers. It’s an advanced dive, for sure, with potentially strong currents and depths that can push decompression limits. But for those who relish the challenge, the rewards are immense. We’ve found cod and wrasse patrolling her decaying holds, and on a really calm day, shafts of light pierce the water, illuminating the ghostly superstructure. Our favourite is navigating the engine room, a tight squeeze but worth it to feel the weight of the past. If you’re into proper wreck penetration and don’t mind a bit of a chill, this is a truly rewarding experience, a real diver’s dive. Just make sure your drysuit skills are up to scratch and you bring a good torch.
