Wreck of Trout - Scottish West Coast

The Wreck of the *Trout* isn’t about big pelagics or technicolour reefs. This is true wreck diving, full of atmosphere and history. We’ve always loved its moody vibe, especially when the light filters down through the green water. You’ll spend your dive exploring the remains of this fishing trawler, a proper wreck with plenty of structure still intact. Look for its substantial boiler, usually swarming with squat lobsters, and we’ve often found conger eels tucked into the darker recesses of the collapsed stern section. It’s a dive for those who appreciate maritime history and the way the sea reclaims its own, best suited for experienced divers comfortable with colder water and perhaps a touch of current, especially on the bigger tides. We’d suggest a good torch is essential to really bring out the details.
