Wreck of Unnamed Shipwreck - Canmore 101667 - Scottish West Coast

The “Unnamed Shipwreck” off the Scottish West Coast, Canmore 101667, now that’s a name that really sells it, eh? Don’t let the bland official title fool you, this wreck is pure Scottish charm. We love the mystery here; it’s an adventure just trying to figure out what she was. Dropping down, the cold water immediately invigorates you. You’ll find her hull draped in dead man’s fingers, their soft, pale tendrils swaying gently with the surge. Around the deeper sections, conger eels often peek out from shadowy crevices, their eyes following your torch beam. We always keep an eye out for nudibranchs too, some surprisingly colourful ones cling to the kelp that dances above the superstructure. It's a proper atmospheric dive, one for those who appreciate history and don't mind a bit of a chill for the reward of exploring something truly forgotten. Visibility can be a bit of a gamble, often around 5-10 metres, but that just adds to the enigmatic feel. Head here on a calm day; strong currents make the descent and ascent a bit of a slog.
