Wreck of Unnamed Shipwreck - Canmore 102604 - Scottish West Coast

Now, this is what we talk about when we mean proper UK diving. The Unnamed Shipwreck, Canmore 102604, off Scotland's west coast, isn't about tropical fish or bath-warm water. It’s about history, atmosphere, and that unique feeling you get when you’re exploring something genuinely old and reclaimed by the sea. We love this site for its character. We're talking substantial structure here, not just scattered debris. You can spend a good long dive tracing the hull, poking your torch into the deeper sections, imagining the ship's final moments. Our favourite part has to be the way the kelp drapes over the metal, swaying with the surge, creating these dramatic shadows. It really gives the wreck a haunted feel. As for what you'll see, expect plenty of resident wrasse darting in and out of the plating, spider crabs scuttling across encrusted beams, and often a decent sized conger eel peeking from a dark corner if you're patient. The visibility can be variable, as is typical for the west coast, but even in 5-6 metres, the scale of the wreck is impressive. We'd suggest timing your dive for slack water; the currents here can be a bit lively. This site really suits divers who appreciate historical wrecks and aren't afraid of a bit of chill and lower visibility. It's a proper adventure.
