Wreck of Unnamed Shipwreck - Canmore 102707 - Scottish West Coast

The beauty of diving the Scottish West Coast isn’t always about sun-drenched reefs, it’s about the raw, untamed allure of history beneath chilly waves. This unnamed shipwreck, Canmore 102707, is a prime example. We love how the wreck, likely a sturdy fishing vessel or small merchant ship, has settled into the seabed, now completely reclaimed by the ocean. Drop down and you’ll find the skeletal remains of its hull, probably just the ribs and perhaps some decking, draped in dead man’s fingers and various anemones. The visibility here can be… challenging, but on a good day, when the sun breaks through, the greens and browns of the encrusting life really pop against the dark steel. It’s not a deep dive, from what we’ve seen, making it a fantastic exploratory spot for those comfortable in colder waters and with a taste for maritime history. Keep an eye out for wrasse and blennies darting amongst the wreckage; they’re often curious. This site suits divers who appreciate the quiet drama of a historical wreck over flashy corals.
