Wreck of Unnamed Shipwreck - Canmore 102744 - Scottish West Coast

Diving a wreck off the Scottish coast is always an adventure, and this unnamed site, Canmore 102744, is a proper dive for those who appreciate history and a bit of a challenge. While its identity remains a mystery, the structure itself offers plenty to explore. We’ve finned over decks encrusted with plumose anemones, their white tentacles swaying gently in the current, and poked around the remnants of cargo holds now home to curious wrasse. It’s a site for experienced cold-water divers, no doubt. Our favourite part is the way the light filters through the kelp forest that often surrounds the wreck, casting an eerie, green glow on the metal. You’ll feel the chill of the Atlantic, but the sheer number of small crabs scuttling across the plates and the occasional inquisitive seal makes it all worthwhile. We'd suggest timing your dive for slack water to really enjoy the details, as currents can be brisk. It’s a raw, authentic wreck dive – not for everyone, but deeply rewarding for those who seek it.
