Wreck of Unnamed Shipwreck - Canmore 103042 - Scottish West Coast

The unnamed shipwreck, Canmore 103042, off the Scottish West Coast isn’t one of those wrecks sitting upright, perfectly preserved. Instead, it’s a debris field, scattered across the seabed, but don't let that put you off. We love this site for its archaeological mystery, a chance to piece together a story from broken timbers and scattered artefacts. You’ll spend your dive sifting through history, spotting the vague outline of the hull, perhaps a boiler, and plenty of plates and rivets – each piece a clue. This site really shines for divers who enjoy exploration and a bit of detective work, rather than just gliding past an intact vessel. Look closely amongst the wreckage; the gaps and crevices are often home to squat lobsters and cheeky blennies. If you hit it on a calm day, the visibility can be surprisingly good, making the hunt for details even more rewarding. It’s a proper hands-on dive, best suited to those who appreciate the narrative behind the dive, and don't mind getting a little mucky investigating.
