Wreck of Victoria Regina - Scottish West Coast

The Victoria Regina isn't about tropical colours. It's about history, cold water, and the sheer challenge of diving the Clyde. We love this site for its character – a proper old steamer, resting upright, with plenty to explore even if the visibility sometimes makes it a real exercise in navigation. You'll drop down onto the wheelhouse, often finding dogfish nestled in the wreckage, and then work your way along the decks. Below, the engine room provides a fantastic swim-through for those with the right training, and we’ve seen some huge conger eels peering out from the deeper sections. The hull is now a reef in itself, covered in jewel anemones, dead man's fingers, and feathery hydroids. It’s a dive that rewards repeat visits, especially when you catch it on a quiet day with less boat traffic. The low light and the sense of diving history here are our favourite parts. Best to plan this one with an experienced local guide.
