Wreck of Walker - Scottish West Coast

The Wreck of Walker, off Scotland's west coast, isn’t about tropical colours. It’s about atmosphere, history, and a certain rugged beauty. Dropping onto the wreck, you're immediately struck by its broken silhouette against the moody green light. We love how the strong currents, common here, have really sculpted the metal, creating these dramatic twists and turns. You'll find it relatively intact in places, a ghostly framework where you can trace the decks and what might have been the engine room. Keep an eye out for the resident wrasse and pollock, darting through the gaps. They've made these rusting plates their home. For us, the highlight is often finding a quiet corner out of the main current, perhaps by the bow, and just watching the light play through the wreckage. It’s a dive that rewards patience and a good torch. Best for experienced divers comfortable with colder water and the occasional lively current. Dive it on a slack tide if you can, it makes exploring much more relaxing.
