SOURIS TRADER - Nova Scotia

The Souris Trader, sitting at just 10 metres, offers a shallow wreck dive that’s surprisingly engaging for its depth. This old motor vessel broke up a while ago, so what you find now is more of a scattered debris field than a pristine wreck. We’ve found the stern section and engine room area are still pretty identifiable, giving you a chance to poke around the machinery. Lots of local fish, like cunner and rock gunnels, have made homes in the twisted metal, and you’ll see plenty of anemones and hydroids coating the frames. It's an easy dive, good for new wreck divers or anyone looking for a relaxed exploration with a bit of history attached.
