Fang Ming - Sea of Cortez

The Fang Ming sits upright, a real treat in the Sea of Cortez. This isn't just a pile of metal; it’s a proper wreck dive, with holds you can explore and a bridge that’s still largely intact. We love how the light filters down into the cargo bays, illuminating schools of grunts and snappers that have made it home. Keep an eye out for nudibranchs on the deck, and we've seen some surprisingly large groupers lurking in the shadows of the engine room. It’s a great site for divers comfortable with penetration, but even staying on the exterior offers plenty to see. Our favorite part is the stern, where the propeller is still mostly there, often covered in yellow cup corals. We’d suggest going early in the morning for the best visibility and fewer other divers.
