Reef - Tyre
The team at Reef are just lovely people. They’re based right on the harbour in Tyre, which makes for easy boat access to most of the local sites. We love how relaxed the atmosphere is, but they’re still incredibly professional, especially with new divers. Our favourite thing to do with them is a morning two-tank trip out to the Phoenician wall, then a drift dive along the Roman ruins closer to shore. Tyre’s underwater landscape is really unique; you’re diving among history. Imagine navigating between ancient columns and pottery shards, then ascending through schools of damselfish that shimmer like sequins. We always look for the resident loggerhead turtles near the deeper sections of the wall; they’re quite curious. Visibility averages around 15-20 metres on a good day, but it can drop after heavy rains, so keep an eye on the weather. If you’re looking to explore some truly different dive sites, steeped in history, Reef in Tyre is our top pick. They really shine when it comes to guiding you through the historical sites and making you feel right at home.
