The team at Grey Nurse Charters are our go-to for Sydney diving. They really shine when it comes to getting you out to the grey nurse shark aggregation sites off the coast. We love their focus on specific, often deeper, wreck and reef dives rather than just repetitive shallow sites. If you’re a diver who appreciates a well-run boat, solid local knowledge, and a real chance to see some significant pelagics, then these are your people. Their trips out to sites like The Apartments or Magic Point feel like a proper adventure. You’re often dropping onto rocky reefs where these incredible sharks cruise in and out of gutters, sometimes just metres away. The water can be cool, often a deep emerald green, with light shafts cutting through the kelp. Visibility might shift, but when it's good, seeing a dozen or more grey nurses glide past is something else. We'd suggest booking ahead, especially during the aggregation season from May to November, as their spots fill up fast for these particular dives. They run a smooth operation, and their skippers know these Sydney waters intimately, which makes a huge difference when the swell kicks up.
