GUNNAR II - Lofoten Islands

Gunnar II isn't your typical tropical jaunt, and that's precisely why we love it. This isn't about colourful corals, it’s about history and the sheer drama of the Lofoten landscape. She’s a fishing vessel, wrecked in a nasty snowstorm, and now rests in a sheltered cove in Nappstraumen. Diving Gunnar II feels like stepping into a cold, dark piece of maritime history. The wreck itself is relatively intact, and we love poking around the superstructure, imagining the conditions when she went down. Expect to see wolf fish lurking in crevices, cod drifting through the holds, and anemones clinging to every surface. It’s a dive for those who appreciate wrecks with a story, for photographers chasing moody light, and for divers who aren’t afraid of a little chill in the name of adventure. The depth here means it’s accessible to most, but the cold water dictates drysuit diving. Go when the light is good; it really enhances the atmosphere.
