Club le Rederis - Costa Brava

Club le Rederis, tucked away in Costa Brava, holds a special spot for us, especially when the summer crowds thin out. We love it for its quiet, unassuming charm, a nice contrast to some of the busier spots along the coast. It’s got a real Mediterranean feel, with sunlight dappling through the water onto a rocky seabed, dropping down maybe 20-25 metres in places. Our favourite time to dive here is late morning, before the thermocline really sets in. You’ll typically see schools of saddled seabream and annular seabream cruising past, sometimes with a few inquisitive painted combers darting in and out of the crevices. Keep an eye out for morays peeking from their holes; they’re pretty common here. We’ve had some cracking encounters with loggerhead turtles, just gliding by as if you’re not even there. The red band-fish are a real treat too, their colours really pop against the darker rocks. It’s a comfortable dive, nothing too taxing, making it ideal for those days when you just want to relax underwater without battling strong currents or navigating complex swim-throughs.
