iDive Barcelona - Costa Brava
The team at iDive Barcelona really stands out for their no-nonsense approach to dive training, especially if you’re looking to go pro. We’ve always found their instructors to be some of the most patient and thorough folks on the Costa Brava, making the step up to Divemaster or even IDC feel genuinely achievable. If you’re serious about a career in diving, or just want to take your PADI certs further with a crew that knows their stuff inside out, this is our top pick in the region. Our favourite thing about diving with iDive Barcelona is their local knowledge. They’ll get you out to some of the quieter spots in the Medes Islands, often catching the morning light as it pierces through the kelp forests, creating these ethereal shafts of light. We’ve seen octopuses here, tucked into crevices, their skin rippling with colour changes, and sometimes we’ve been lucky enough to spot barracuda schooling just off the deeper walls. They know the currents, they know the nooks, and they’re brilliant at reading the conditions. We’d suggest going with them for a two-tank morning trip, it’s usually less crowded and the light is just better.
