Saint Prosper Wreck - Costa Brava

The Saint Prosper is one of our favourite dives in Costa Brava, a proper old wreck with character. This isn't some pristine, intact vessel; she's broken up, scattered across the seabed, which we think makes for a far more interesting exploration. You’ll weave through metal plates, past twisted beams, and into cargo holds where the light filters down in shifting shafts. It’s got that slightly eerie, hushed feeling of history underwater. What we really love here is how nature has completely taken over. Big schools of snapper cruise through the superstructure, and if you look closely, you'll spot scorpionfish camouflaged on the encrusted metal. We’ve often seen impressive conger eels poking their heads from pipes and crevices, sometimes surprisingly large ones. Visibility can be a bit variable, so we'd suggest picking a calm day after a period of good weather to really appreciate the scale of the site. This dive suits those who enjoy a bit of wreck penetration and a sense of discovery, rather than just admiring pretty corals.
