SHIGIZAN MARU - Costa Brava

The *Shigizan Maru*, a Japanese steamship, rests upright at 28 meters off the Costa Brava, making for a solid deep wreck dive. She went down in 1917 after hitting a mine, and time has taken its toll, but the sheer size of the hull, over 100 meters long, still impresses. We often find conger eels peering from dark holes, and schools of barracuda sometimes circle the mast structure. It’s a great site for divers comfortable with deeper profiles who appreciate a piece of history and the marine life that now calls it home.
