Site de Plongée Le Sentier Sous Marin - Costa Brava

Le Sentier Sous Marin, or the Underwater Path, in Costa Brava is a different kind of dive and one we really appreciate. It’s set up as a snorkel trail, but we love it for a relaxed shore dive, especially when we’ve had a few too many tapas the night before. You’re not going to find dramatic drop-offs here, but instead, it’s a gentle exploration over sand and rocky patches. Look closely, and you’ll spot things like shy masked crabs scuttling away or the vibrant antennae of red snapping shrimp poking out from crevices. It’s a fantastic site for macro enthusiasts or for divers who just want a chill hour in the water without any fuss. Our favourite time to visit is early morning, before the snorkelers arrive, when the light filters beautifully through the shallower water. We’ve had some memorable encounters here with small schools of axillary sea-bream, and if you’re patient and lucky, a loggerhead turtle might even cruise by. It's a gentle dive, perfect for working on your buoyancy or just enjoying the simple rhythm of the Mediterranean.
