MEDINA - Baltic Coast

The Baltic Coast isn't always about deep wrecks and tech diving. Sometimes, a site comes along that’s just pure, accessible fun, and that’s exactly what the MEDINA offers. We love the backstory – abandoned in '73 after taking on water, she’s been slowly reclaiming her spot on the shoreline near Ristna, Dago Island. You’re not going deep here, not even close. The MEDINA sits in a maximum of two metres of water, making it perfect for snorkelers, freedivers, or even just a very shallow scuba exploration. We’d suggest going at high tide if you want to get a good look at the propeller and rudder; they’re often half-buried in the sand at low water. The hull itself is a skeleton now, ribs exposed, with rust-coloured algae clinging to every surface. Light filters through the gaps in the decking, highlighting the schools of small blennies and gobies that dart in and out of the shadows. It’s a completely different wreck experience – less about penetration, more about observing how nature reclaims something man-made, right on the edge of the land. We always find something new, a different angle of light, a new patch of barnacles.
