Dropping onto the S/S Hindenburg, you're immediately struck by the sheer scale of this cargo ship. She sits upright at 42 metres, largely intact, with her mast still reaching skyward like a skeletal finger. We've often spent most of our bottom time exploring the holds, which are surprisingly open and offer some good penetration for properly trained wreck divers. Look for the large propeller, often shrouded in a fine layer of silt kicked up by the thermocline. It’s a serious dive, best suited for experienced cold-water wreck enthusiasts comfortable with deeper profiles and the Baltic’s often chilly embrace.

    Safety Notes

Maximum depth 42m exceeds recreational limits (40m). Technical diving certification and equipment required.

Wreck site - avoid penetration without wreck diving certification. Watch for sharp metal and entanglement hazards.

Cold water this month (avg 11°C). Drysuit or thick wetsuit (7mm+) recommended.

Always perform a 3-minute safety stop at 5m before surfacing.
