la caverne d'Albi baba - Loyalty Islands

Mur de corail off Moorea is one of those sites we always try to hit, especially if we’re bringing newer divers. The wall itself drops from about 5m down to 20m, which means you get fantastic light penetration across the whole profile. We love how the sunlight plays through the staghorn coral formations, especially in the late morning, painting everything in a shifting mosaic. It’s a very relaxed drift, usually, allowing plenty of time to really observe the residents. We’ve seen more humphead wrasse here than almost anywhere else, big old fellas cruising by with an air of dignified curiosity. You’ll definitely spot plenty of parrotfish munching on the reef, and the green tube tunicates add a surprisingly vivid splash of colour. Keep an eye out in the sandy patches at the base of the wall for lemon sharks, they often just sit there, unbothered. It’s an easy, beautiful dive, perfect for photographers or anyone who just wants to soak in a classic Pacific reef without any drama.
