Pascaline - Loyalty Islands

Sara’s Smile is a site we’ve always enjoyed, especially if you’re staying at Belmar and can walk right in. It’s got that classic Bonaire feel, a gentle slope down to about 21 metres, with good coral cover. We often find ourselves just cruising along, spotting Green Turtles munching on the seagrass patches before heading to the reef. Keep an eye out for the smaller stuff here; it’s a great spot for critters like the Puffcheek Blenny, tucked into the reef, or a camouflaged Spinythroat Scorpionfish, waiting patiently. We’ve had some cracking dives here just drifting, watching schools of Round Scad filter past. If you’re shore diving, permission is a must, but it’s worth the small effort for a relaxed dive where you’re almost guaranteed to come up grinning. It’s a solid pick for a low-key afternoon dive, especially if you’re keen on finding those subtle reef residents.
