Pinacle d’Actineria - Loyalty Islands

Sental is where we head when we want a proper drift dive with something interesting to look at all the way along. It’s an extended coral slope, mostly hard corals, lots of staghorn and table corals forming ledges and overhangs. Keep an eye out into the blue here. We’ve seen small schools of trevally zip past, and once, a lone eagle ray gliding through. The current can be quite strong, which is part of the fun, but it means good coordination with your boat captain is key – agree on your entry and exit points clearly. This site suits divers who enjoy a relaxed drift, letting the water do the work, while keeping an eye out for larger pelagics moving through the open water. Expect to see plenty of reef fish sheltering in the coral, and we often spot freckled anglerfish tucked away if we take our time. It’s a relatively shallow dive, topping out around 21 metres, so you get plenty of bottom time to just go with the flow.
