Coco Diving Trincomalee - Trincomalee & East Coast
The team at Coco Diving Trincomalee are just brilliant. They’re PADI 5 Star, so you know the training and safety standards are solid. We love their relaxed, friendly vibe; it feels like diving with mates, not just a business transaction. They really know the east coast, and that local knowledge makes all the difference when it comes to finding the best spots. This is our pick for divers who want to explore Trinco’s impressive reefs and wrecks without the crowds you sometimes find elsewhere. We’d suggest going early in the season, May or June, when the water is still warming up but often beautifully calm, offering fantastic visibility. Our favourite memory is a drift dive near Pigeon Island, watching huge schools of rainbow runners zip past, reflecting the sunlight like scattered jewels. Keep an eye out for blue whales just off the coast if you’re lucky enough to be there between March and July – you might hear their calls underwater. They also do fantastic day trips out to Swami Rock, where the reef drops dramatically, often with leopard sharks cruising the thermoclines. If you're after a dedicated, passionate crew who make every dive feel personal, Coco Diving is a superb choice.
