BIRGITTE THOMAS - North Sea Coast

The *Birgitte Thomas* is one of those wrecks that just hits right, a fishing vessel sitting upright at 31 metres. It’s not huge, about 26 metres long, but she’s beautifully intact, offering plenty to nose around. We love dropping down onto the wheelhouse, often finding a curious cod eyeing us from the doorway. What really makes the *Birgitte Thomas* special is the way the North Sea has claimed her. You’ll find plumose anemones carpeting the superstructure, their feathery tentacles swaying with the gentle surge. Keep an eye out for conger eels too, they’re often tucked into the deeper recesses of the hull. We usually find the best visibility on a slack tide, making it easier to appreciate the wreck's full profile and spot the smaller critters that have made it home. This site is a proper treat for wreck enthusiasts who appreciate a bit of history and don't mind a chillier dive.
