CONNIE VINTHER - North Sea Coast

The Connie Vinther wreck, off the North Sea Coast, is one of those dives that sticks with you. Dropping down to 33 metres, you find her largely intact, a fishing vessel with a story etched into her every rivet. We love how the wheelhouse offers a genuine sense of the ship’s past, and the cargo hold is surprisingly open for exploration if you’re comfortable with overhead environments. It’s an impressive sight, with schools of cod often circling the superstructure and the deck crawling with crabs. Visibility can be hit or miss, typical for the North Sea, but when it’s good, the light plays beautifully through the openings, creating an almost eerie atmosphere. We’d suggest timing your dive with slack tide; the currents here can be robust. This is definitely a dive for experienced wreck enthusiasts who appreciate a dose of history with their marine life, not for the faint of heart or those new to deeper wreck penetration.
