FLOTTWEG - North Sea Coast

Flottweg is one of those wrecks that just delivers for a shallow dive. We love that it’s right there at 6 metres, accessible even on a shorter bottom time. Dropping onto it, you’ll find the merchant vessel still holds a lot of its shape, with a distinct mast that reaches up, almost begging to be explored. It’s a fantastic spot for photographers, especially when the sun breaks through and illuminates the details of the bow and stern. We’ve had some cracking dives here, navigating through the holds where cod and wrasse often cruise, and poking around the structure where crabs and even the occasional small lobster tuck themselves away. The visibility can be variable, as with much of the North Sea, but on a good day, it's a calm, engaging dive. We’d suggest going at slack tide; it makes exploring the interior much more relaxed. It’s not a drift dive, it’s a site to savour, really.
