FRI 16 - North Sea Coast

FRI 16 isn't a deep dive, sitting at a maximum of 5m, but don't let that fool you. This is a proper historical wreck, a fishing vessel that met its end, and it’s surprisingly atmospheric for such a shallow spot. We love how accessible it is, making it a brilliant option when you're looking for something a bit different on the North Sea coast. The visibility here can swing, but on a good day, particularly after a few days of settled weather, the light filters down beautifully through the shallows. You’ll find the wreck itself well-defined, with plenty of nooks and crannies to explore. It's not about big pelagics here; think more along the lines of resident crabs scuttling over the decking, blennies peeking out from behind rusted metal, and the occasional flatfish camouflaged against the seabed. Our favourite part is the way the light plays on the structure, especially in the late afternoon. It’s a photographer’s delight if you’re into ambient light wreck shots. It suits divers who appreciate history and enjoy the hunt for smaller marine life rather than vast coral landscapes. Bring a sturdy torch to peer into the shadowed sections, even with the good ambient light.
