Hatter Rev - North Sea Coast

Unison Reef has always felt a bit like finding a good pub that hasn’t been overrun yet. It’s not about huge drop-offs or dramatic swim-throughs here. What we love about Unison is its honest, unpretentious reefscape. You’re weaving through healthy coral bommies, often with that shimmering haze of fusiliers and damselfish obscuring your buddy for a moment. We’ve seen some great stuff here, from Golden Trevally darting past to the surprisingly elegant Talang Queenfish cruising the edges. Keep an eye out for the Threespot Flounder, almost invisible against the sandy patches. It’s a site that rewards slow diving, peering into crevices. We’d suggest going in the morning; the light really brings out the colours of the corals and makes the smaller reef fish pop. If you're after relaxed dives with a good chance of spotting something unusual without battling crowds, Unison Reef is a solid pick.
