HAVFRAKT - North Sea Coast

The North Sea wrecks always feel a bit different, a bit more serious, and the Havfrakt is no exception. This isn't a colourful reef dive; it’s a sombre, fascinating trip into history. We love that the wreck is still largely intact, sitting upright at 30 metres, which makes navigation pretty straightforward even when the North Sea gloom sets in. You’ll fin over her deck, past the superstructure where the bridge used to be, and peer into cargo holds now home to hefty cod and schools of coalfish that shimmer in your torch beam. She went down in a thick fog after a collision in 1983, and there's a real sense of that sudden, dramatic end when you’re down there. Visibility can be a challenge, sometimes only a few metres, but that just adds to the atmosphere, revealing details slowly. Our favourite part is exploring the stern, where the prop is often still visible, a massive, silent testament to her last voyage. It’s a dive that rewards patience and a good light, perfect for divers who appreciate the story and the unique, rugged beauty of a cold-water wreck.
