HMS Indefatigable - North Sea Coast

Diving the RV Belgica in the Lofoten Islands isn't your typical tropical wreck dive. This isn't about vibrant corals, it’s about history and the stark beauty of the North Atlantic. What we love here is the sheer sense of exploration, tracing the outline of a ship that once sailed the Antarctic. Visibility can vary wildly, but on a good day, the Belgica looms out of the green, a ghostly silhouette. We’ve found the stern section particularly atmospheric, with its collapsed deck revealing machinery encrusted in cold-water anemones. Keep an eye out for curious common eiders overhead, occasionally diving past, a reminder of the surface world. This dive suits those with a real appreciation for maritime history and don't mind a bit of a chill; it’s rugged, demanding, but incredibly rewarding for the right kind of diver. Dive it closer to slack tide, if you can, to really savour the moment.
