HMS Warrior - North Sea Coast

The HMS Warrior isn't just a wreck; it's a slice of Edwardian naval history dropped onto the seabed, now a rough, metal reef. We love it because it’s a big, imposing beast, a proper armoured cruiser, not some fishing boat. Dropping down, you feel the sheer scale of the thing. Hull plates are ripped, revealing inner workings, and you can poke your head into some of the larger openings, imagining what it was like a century ago. Inside, the light dims, and it gets properly atmospheric. Shoals of cod and pollock patrol the deeper sections, darting in and out of the twisted metal. Our favourite moment is finning along the deck, where the outline of the massive guns are still visible, now completely encrusted with anemones. It’s a site that rewards multiple dives, giving up new details each time you visit. Definitely one for wreck lovers who appreciate a bit of history with their dive, and aren't afraid of a bit of North Sea chill. Just be mindful of the currents; they can pick up, so check the local conditions.
