The JAN, a carrier vessel that went down in '78 after a collision, sits upright in about 29 metres of water off Esbjerg. She's a solid wreck, around 42 metres long, and while she's not the most dramatic collapse, she offers a decent penetration for those with the right training. We've found the wheelhouse and engine room accessible, providing a good sense of her working life. Expect to see plenty of local fish, like cod and pollack, taking shelter in her structure, and often some decent crab activity on the deck plates. It’s a good one for divers keen on wreck exploration without extreme current challenges.
