KAMILLA (POSSIBLY) - North Sea Coast

The Kamilla, or what we strongly suspect is the Kamilla, sits in a forgiving 10 metres off the North Sea coast. It's a proper wreck dive, not just a pile of rubble. We love that you can still make out the ship’s structure – the bow juts up, almost defiant, and the stern section lies a bit flatter. Visibility can be a bit moody here, it’s the North Sea after all, but on a good day, when the light pushes through the green water, you’ll see the beams of the wreck clearly defined. Schools of cod and pollock often hover above the deeper sections, disappearing into the shadows when you get too close. Crabs scuttle in and out of the crevices, and we’ve spotted some hefty lobsters tucked away in the more intact sections of the hull. It’s a site for divers who appreciate history and the slow reclamation by the sea. Don't expect tropical colours, but the sheer volume of life thriving on this old ship, combined with the accessible depth, makes it a rewarding dive. Go on a slack tide if you can, it makes exploring the interior much more enjoyable.
