LYNAES - North Sea Coast

Lynæs, a fishing vessel that went down in 1943, is a compelling dive on the Danish North Sea coast. We love a wreck with a story, and this one certainly has character, sitting upright and mostly intact at a comfortable 16 metres. The visibility here can be a bit variable, so we always check the forecasts, but on a good day, the Lynæs reveals itself beautifully, the bow still proud, the stern settled into the sand. You'll spend most of your dive exploring the deck and superstructure, which is now thoroughly colonised by local marine life. Expect to find cod sheltering in the darker corners and velvet crabs scuttling across the growth. The atmosphere is genuinely peaceful, a stark contrast to the rough seas that claimed her. Our favourite moments are always spotting the distinctive fishing gear still visible, a poignant reminder of her working life. It's a dive that suits those who appreciate historical wrecks and the way nature reclaims them, rather than a purely marine life spectacle. Come prepared for cooler waters and a potentially rewarding glimpse into the past.
