MARGIT - North Sea Coast

The Margit, a Danish freighter sunk in 1924, lies in a relatively shallow 13 metres. We find it’s a brilliant introduction to wreck diving in the North Sea. Despite the years, much of her structure remains intact, especially the stern. You can really get a sense of her shape, sitting upright on the sandy seabed. Exploring the Margit is all about the atmosphere. The North Sea light filters down, often with a green tint, illuminating the skeletal remains of the cargo holds. What was once steel now hosts a fascinating array of marine life. Crabs scuttle in the shadows, their claws waving tentatively, while blennies peer out from crevices. Look closely, and you’ll spot flatfish camouflaged against the sand around the wreck. We love how the Margit feels like a living museum, constantly changing with the tides and seasons. It's a dive that rewards slow exploration and a keen eye, perfect for those who appreciate history and the subtle beauty of temperate waters.
