MARIANNE - North Sea Coast

The *Marianne* sits in a pretty accessible patch of the North Sea, just 14 metres down. She went down in March of ‘41, and while we don’t have an official story for her sinking, the sheer volume of wartime wrecks around Denmark tells its own tale. We love that she’s shallow enough for longer bottom times, giving you a proper chance to explore. What’s left of the hull is largely broken up, but you can still make out her general shape and the scattered remains of her cargo. Our favourite part? The way the wreck has become a home. Expect to see wolfish peering from shadowy nooks, thick clouds of cod, and crabs scuttling over the rusted plates. The visibility here can be… *variable*, let’s say, but on a good day, with a bit of sunlight filtering through, the atmosphere is quite something. It’s a good dive for those who appreciate history and don't mind a bit of a treasure hunt amidst the metal. Bring a good torch, even on a bright day, to really peer into the gloom.
