NO.1305 - North Sea Coast

NO.1305 isn't just a wreck, it's a piece of history resting on the seabed. This minesweeper, sunk in June 1940, lies intact at a comfortable 12 metres, making it approachable for most divers. We love drifting over its deck, imagining the final moments, the silence now broken only by the gentle sweep of the current and the buzz of tiny gobies darting into crevices. What you'll find here is a genuine relic. The stern still holds its shape, and you can swim through the superstructure, watching light shafts filter down, illuminating the rusted metal. Shoals of cod often hang around the deeper sections, their dark forms camouflaged against the aged steel. Our favourite tip? Go on a calm day; the North Sea can be temperamental, but when it’s still, the visibility around NO.1305 can be surprisingly clear, giving you a proper sense of the scale of this wartime vessel. It’s a dive for those who appreciate history and don't mind a bit of grit with their underwater exploration.
