NORDEN - North Sea Coast

NORDEN is one of our favourite North Sea wrecks, a fishing vessel that went down in 1943. It’s a proper dive for experienced hands, sitting at 37 metres, so factor in your bottom time. The stern is often the most intact part, and you can still make out the outline of the propeller. We always find the bow section a bit more scattered, though the debris field around it is great for poking around. What we love about NORDEN is the palpable sense of history; you can almost feel the chill of the wartime North Sea. Schools of cod hang in the darker parts of the holds, and the metal is encrusted with anemones. Visibility can be a bit of a gamble, but on a good day, when the sun penetrates the green water, the wreck just glows. Look for the wolf fish lurking in crevices – they’re shy but definitely around. This site is for divers comfortable with depth and variable conditions, who appreciate a wreck with a story more than just pretty fish.
