PHILIP - North Sea Coast

The PHILIP, resting at 21 metres, feels less like a wreck and more like a time capsule. This schooner isn't just a pile of twisted metal; it's still surprisingly intact, with deck sections and cargo holds you can genuinely explore. We love how the wooden hull has become a canvas for the North Sea's resilient marine life – expect to find crab species scuttling across the decaying timbers and schools of small fish darting in and out of the openings. Visibility here can be a bit of a gamble, but on a good day, the low light filtering through the green water gives the whole dive a wonderfully atmospheric, almost eerie feel. Our favourite thing about the PHILIP is its quiet sense of history; you can almost imagine it sailing the Danish coast. It’s a superb wreck dive for those who appreciate character over sheer size, perfect for divers comfortable with moderate depths and who enjoy a bit of careful penetration. We'd suggest aiming for slack tide; the currents here can pick up quickly, making navigating the interior a bit of a wrestle.
